An overview of July

July has been an important month for me in many ways:

1. I Kickstarted my blog

This is absolutely life-changing for me and I love the blogging community. Everyone is so supportive and welcoming and it really gives you a feeling of acceptance.

2. My family arrived for their first visit to Corfu

They have finally got to see how I live. Over in Corfu I live a very different lifestyle and it’s nice to be able to share this with my Mum.

3. I finally managed to go to the beach

Working in a tourist country doesn’t necessarily mean ‘a working holiday’. It sounds idyllic living abroad but it’s a lot of very hard work and sweating profusely. I managed to get to the beach and now have a very slight tan. It’s one shade darker than ‘ghostly’

4. I went back to England to see my family and attend my Grandpa’s funeral

I lost my Grandpa a few weeks ago. He had a long and fulfilled life but that doesn’t make it any easier. I’ll miss him a lot. It’s my first real big loss in a family and it’s really shown me how precious life is.

5. I will never take for granted what I have here in Corfu

Although I have my family in England, I also have a wonderful family and group of friends in Corfu who do so much for me and keep my head somewhat level when it all gets a little bit tough.

August is going to be crazy busy but bring it on!

  1. Sorry to hear of your loss. It’s hard dealing with the passing of loved ones. You’re right though, it does put everything into perspective. It’s important to actually spend time with people while you can. You know, take in the moments in their presence instead of being only half there (physically and not mentally). Hope that your August has more ups than downs. Cheers!

    1. Thank you for your lovely words. You’re completely right. Embrace and enjoy everything you have! August will be a busy one for me so the sooner September comes, the better! In the height of Greek summer now and things get chaotic!!
